The evening's presentations will be worth 1 CPE per presentation for a total of two(2) CPE credits for the evening for our local CMAs, Certified Management Accountants. CPE, relevant topics, wonderful company, networking and delicious food - what more could you ask for on a Tuesday?

About Steve Watts:

Steve Watts is a Senior Vice President at Summit Bank. He has over 30 years of commercial banking experience and earned his B.S. in Business Administration from Oregon State University and his graduate degree from Pacific Coast Banking School. He is active in the non-profit community serving on the board and executive committee for Meals on Wheels People, as the current board president for GiGi’s Playhouse Portland, and as a long-time member and past president of the Rotary Club of Portland.

This session explores why financial professionals are in high demand for nonprofit boards, the financial responsibilities board members hold, and how CMAs and CPAs can strengthen oversight. Attendees will also learn the key financial questions to ask to evaluate a nonprofit’s financial health before and during board service.

About Bill Mancuso:

Bill is an organized, detailed oriented professional with over 35 years of experience in both for profit and nonprofit accounting. A graduate of The College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College), Bill has devoted his career to helping organizations not only with accounting and financial operations, but also additional supports such as management, marketing, and overall consulting on operations. He can communicate technical items in a manner that assists management and boards in making more well-informed decisions. Bill’s overall approach is to not overcomplicate things and to use his experience to allow those he serves to prosper. A resident of Albany, Oregon, Bill has and continues to serve numerous nonprofits, as a board member as well as volunteering in the community, using his skills and talents to help others.
