The Kansas Council for Economic Education, in partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and the Centers for Economic Education at Fort Hays State University and Wichita State University are pleased to present this engaging workshop for educators.
This workshop will empower you with ideas and strategies to teach financial literacy effectively. Learn how to sequence relevant topics seamlessly and integrate student-driven examples. Explore new resources that address vital concepts such as budgeting, saving, credit, investing, financial decision-making, risk management, and financial planning, as well as digital banking and payments. Enhance your teaching toolkit and inspire your students with the know-how to establish financial capability today and beyond.
These workshops offer:
- 2 hours of Graduate Credit from Fort Hays State or Wichita State for those who qualify
- Meals (breakfast/lunch) and snacks
- Hands-on, standards-based lesson plans and supplemental materials
- Turnkey one semester financial literacy courses
- And more
Daily Schedule:
The workshop begins at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, June 22 with registration and breakfast. Start times for Tuesday, June 23 and Thursday, June 24 are at 8:00 a.m. Activities for each day are scheduled to conclude at 4:30 p.m.
Your $20 Registration Fee will be refunded to you at the completion of the workshop. Refunds are available for those who cancel one week prior to the start of the workshop.
Graduate credit is available from WSU and FHSU with scholarships for the full price of tuition available for those who qualify on a first-come, first-served basis. These are available for certified Kansas teachers who are or will be teaching a personal finance course or related course.
