Get practical, science-based food preservation skills you can actually use—no fancy equipment, no guesswork. This spring, join us on the last Friday of each month for a hands-on workshop designed to build confidence in your kitchen and stretch your food dollars.
Each session runs from 2:00–3:00 PM, just before the B’moor Nourished Free Pantry opens at 3:00 PM.
Workshop Schedule:
March: Lacto-Fermentation — Kimchi
Learn the fundamentals of fermentation, how salt and microbes do the heavy lifting, and how to safely make flavorful kimchi at home.
April: Fridge Pickles — Fast, Safe, and Flexible
Master quick refrigerator pickles with tested ratios and safe handling practices. No canner required.
May: No-Cook Fruit Preserves — Seasonal and Shelf-Smart
Explore low-heat and freezer-friendly fruit preserves that maximize flavor while following food safety best practices.

Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Seating is limited.
Ages 10 and up welcome. Minors must be accompanied by a guardian.
Pantry users who attend the workshop receive first entry when the B’moor Nourished Free Pantry opens at 3:00 PM.
These sessions blend traditional preservation methods with research-backed food safety guidance from trusted MSU Extension instructors. You’ll leave with skills, practical knowledge, and the confidence to preserve food safely at home—then head into the pantry with a head start.
