Nestled in between acid jazz blip blops and downtempo electronica lies Hannes Lackmann’s latest project featuring APRA-award winning pianist Selene Messinis and Lachlan Peavey on bass. A collection of ambient and cinematic grooves, the music boasts in it's spaciousness and hypnotic improvised interplay; the spirit of jazz and the seamless transitions of a DJ set.
3 Base Hit are all about bringing an exciting, tough and tight sense of adventure to live music. Whether it's the pumping badass grooves or the improvised cliff hangers, 3 Base Hit takes you for a wild ride into the darker side of the jazz idiom. With a collective playing experience of several lifetimes, they come together with purpose and drive to push music into a new frontier.
Garagee (pronounced Gar-Adji(Y)) is the solo project of Naarm-based multi-instrumentalist Rob McPherson. Garagee has always sought to capture the full expanse of human experience, utilizing the universal aspects of world music influences, creating soundtracks to films you haven’t yet seen. Working with the likes of Steve Kilbey and Ollie Olsen, Rob's hypnotic, atmospheric recordings bridge several genres, from electronic to post-rock, referencing the sonic palettes and instrumental music of the likes of Brian Eno, Grails and Bonobo. Garagee will be bringing the full band for full cinematic impact. Come experience the journey.
