Summary: Caramel (2007) offers a glimpse into the daily lives of five women working at a beauty salon in Beirut as they deal with issues of love, relationships, sexuality, queerness, family expectations, and age. Critically praised, this film is the directorial debut of the iconic Nadine Labaki. It topped the box office in Lebanon and was released in over forty countries after receiving a 15-minute standing ovation at Cannes.
Update regarding Event Donations:
All proceeds will be supporting the Lebanese Red Cross. Our original intention was to donate proceeds to a local Mutual Aid Group but due to technical and administrative hurdles we have chosen to direct funds to the Lebanese Red Cross, an organization that ensures life-saving services and humanitarian relief.
