About this Event

In this summer of sport, we’ve decided to host our very own special Pride film screening of Bend It Like Beckham here at The Proud Place on Thursday the 15th of August.

Described by Vice as ‘The Gayest Story Never Told’, Bend It Like Beckham is the British cult classic comedy about Jess, a British Indian girl and talented footballer who after forming a close friendship with a girl named Jules, finds herself torn between her love of the beautiful game and her traditional Punjabi family.

Free snacks and drinks will be available so whether you’re a film buff or a sports fanatic, this is a screening you don’t want to miss!

Please note, our tickets are tiered for this event in order to allow folks of all different incomes to attend. All ticket sales go directly back into the running of The Proud Place, Manchester's LGBT+ Community centre.
