About this Event

Join Women in Film and Media Colorado along with local experts currently working professionally in the fields of: Film production, acting, voice acting, screenwriting, editing, stunts, directing, and more! Get hands on lessons geared to help you build your career in the film industry or advance your exisiting career to the next level. Maybe try something new! This year WIFMCO has two full days of workshops & panels and even a chance to get a great deal on a new headshot!

Meet Gia-Rayne B Harris!

Gia-Rayne is a Writer-Director who focuses on complex, character-driven narratives. She seeks to place womxn and BIPOC individuals at the center of her work and sees her career as a love letter to them, more specifically the women who raised her.​
Harris is a Mississippi native and an alumna of the University of Pennsylvania. She has been writing and directing professionally since 2018 and is also an alumna of the American Film Institute with a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts in Directing. ​
Harris lived in New York City for five years writing, directing, producing, and performing. In 2018 she created #LEADWITHLOVE, a global campaign with The Advocate Magazine. While in New York she was also a NEW YORK NEO FUTURIST for two years and premiered over 70 of her short plays in that time. She has directed 12 short films that have screened at various festivals, including OUTFEST, the AMERICAN BLACK FILM FESTIVAL (ABFF), NEWFEST, and the PAN AFRICAN FILM FESTIVAL. She was named a finalist for the HBO Short Film Award at ABFF and her short film Pens & Pencils which was acquired by HBO, was nominated for an NAACP Image Award in 2023, and is currently on MAX.
Most recently, Harris was chosen for the Rideback Rise Circle Cohort 2023-2024.

She was also named the recipient of SeriesFest and Shondaland’s 2022-2023 Women Directing Mentorship. She was also selected as a part of the NBCULaunch Female Forward Program 2022-2023 and made her TV directing debut on CHICAGO PD in January 2023.
Harris is repped by Heroes and Villains Entertainment.
