Closing Film Africa 2025 by the Royal African Society will be Dani Kouyaté's Katanga: The Dance of the Scorpions . Reimagining Shakespeare’s tragedy in an African kingdom, the film follows a general appointed by his king after a failed coup, only to be haunted by a prophecy that he will seize the crown or die trying. The screening will be introduced by the film's cinematographer, Marc de Backer.
The Gala will take place on Sunday 23rd November, 6pm at BFI Southbank NFT1.
