Figure Drawing: On the Right Side of the Brain is a 5-week workshop series focused on improving observational drawing skills through exercises adapted from Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards.
Each weekly 2-hour session combines group and individualized instruction designed to help participants of all skill levels draw the human figure more faithfully and confidently. The curriculum adapts foundational exercises from the book into collaborative figure drawing activities that strengthen perception, proportion, and visual understanding. Each session will include 1.5 hours of observational figure drawing from a live figure model.
ABOUT ME: Hi! I'm Nina! I’m a working artist and Rhode Island School of Design graduate who previously hosted figure drawing sessions for 6–15 participants at Kaleidescope Studios. I want to share the same growth and sense of creative freedom that the methods found in "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" once gave me.
