About this Event
PEN America’s counter-disinformation workshop empowers community members to converse with friends, family, and associates about information consumption and news habits. As we move closer to the 2024 presidential election, and with the rapid expansion of tools such as generative AI, the threat that false information poses to communities is greater now than ever before. You have a role to play in building your community’s resilience.
This free workshop will help empower you to be an effective messenger in your own community. We’ll go over the nuances of mis/disinformation, media diets, and conversation strategies—ultimately asking you to attempt conversation with someone in your personal network about the threat that disinformation poses and how to protect themselves.
Pizza will be provided!
If you fill out a quick survey on this experience, you'll receive $20!
