As part of Figarama, Naked Figleaf Press is proud to launch Where Words and Wildlife Meet, an anthology celebrating the landscapes, wildlife and voices of the Isle of Wight.Created from the inaugural Isle of Wight Biosphere Festival Writing Competition 2025, the collection brings together 17 stories and essays by Island writers, alongside striking images by Karl Whitmore.
From hedgerows alive with bees to submerged prehistoric forests beneath the Solent, these pieces explore the rich meeting ground between landscape, wildlife and human experience. Blending storytelling, creative non-fiction and reflection, the anthology reveals the Island as a place of deep ecological memory, imagination and connection.
