About this Event

Join biologist and turtle researcher Ethan Owen for a leisurely guided walk through Evergreen Brickworks and learn to spot the local amphibians, reptiles, and birds hiding in plain sight!

Bring your own binoculars or order them as an “Add-On” with your ticket before May 24, 2026. Note: while binoculars aren’t essential, they do add to the experience.

Filming and Photography Notice

Event Logistics

Wear comfortable footwear and dress appropriately for the weather and terrain. The walking pace will be gentle and there will be extended periods of standing.

This is a rain or shine event. In the event of severe weather, e.g. thunderstorms, we will make an informed decision on the day and notify attendees as soon as possible via the email they register with.

Please refer to your event reminder email (keep an eye on your inbox!) from [email protected] for more information on where to find us on the day of the event.

Accessibility

Seating is provided throughout the site at bistro tables, benches and picnic tables. In the Young Centre and the Centre for Green Cities building, accessibility features include an elevator, accessible single-stall washrooms, automated door openers, and Braille signage in the elevators and conference centre. The accessible washroom is located on the ground floor, with accessible stalls located in the washrooms on each of the five floors.

While the site and park area are accessible for most people, there are some bumps, tracks and pebbles at this old brick factory.

Free shuttle buses are available from Broadview Station, equipped with a wheelchair lift and tie-down. The bus can also accommodate one stroller or large assistive device per trip. Paid parking is available on site.

Cancellation Policy

If you are feeling unwell on the day of the event or have had a recent exposure to COVID-19, please cancel your ticket on Eventbrite or contact us so that it may be allocated to the waitlist.
