Fiber Arts/Sewing: Make Your Own Clothes
This is a series of four 3-hour classes

During our Pants Workshop you will have the opportunity to enhance your sewing skills under the guidance of our sewing instructor Shannon Marshall. You are encouraged to bring your own machine in good working condition, with the power cord, foot control, accessories and instruction manual, if available. Classroom sewing machines are available for use.
In this 4-part hands-on workshop series you'll gain confidence working with woven fabrics while completing a practical, wearable garment. We're using the Pacific Pants pattern, suitable for confident beginner and intermediate skill levels.
You'll learn the best techniques for:
- Pattern adjustments
- Layout and cutting
- Sewing seams, hems, darts, and pockets
- Installing elastic and a drawstring.
Refund Policy: No refunds if you miss a class, arrive late, or have to leave early.
Class length: 4 class meetings, 3 hours each
Class size: 4 minimum, 8 maximum
Age range: 16 and up
Instructor: Shannon Marshall, owner of Sonoma County Sewing Company.
Shannon has been a professional seamstress since 1998, a sewing teacher since 2005, and a local business owner since 2017.
Over the years she has worked with many local designers and small businesses, sewing their prototypes, samples, and custom orders
Cancellation Policy: Attendees must register for classes or request cancellations/refunds 7 days in advance. (Some classes may require more time.) Eventbrite fees will be charged to the attendee. No walk-ins.

- Pacific Pants pattern, purchase and print the pattern and instructions before class https://www.laraehandmade.com/
- Fabric 3 - 5 yards, pre-washed. Fabric Recommendations- Linen, canvas, denim, cotton, tencel, hemp, and other non-stretch fabrics are recommended. Please see page 6 of the Pacific Pant pattern instructions for the yardage amount needed for your size
- Elastic for waistband - 1" / 2.54cm - 1 1/4" / 3.175cm width x Your Waist Measurements for length.
- Drawstring (optional)
- Interfacing for button holes
- Thread
- Universal type sewing machine needles size 75/11 or 90/14
- Fabric scissors
- Paper scissors
- Thread snips
- Seam ripper
- Seam gauge
- Soft measuring tape
- Straight ruler, at least 12 inches
- Wonder clips
- Glass head pins
- Temporary fabric marking pens: iron away, wash away, air erasable, etc.
- Pattern paper, 3 - 5 yards
