
About this Event
In this 3-hour workshop, we will be making a festive snowflake decoration with cotton fabric using Tsumami Zaiku, a traditional Japanese craft originated in the Edo period. You will learn two basic folding techniques and how to put together the snowflake. All tools and materials will be provided, and all fabric will be pre-cut for you. You can choose your own combination of colours and embellishments from the fabric and trimmings provided. If you or your loved ones want to try a new craft and love to create, this will be a great way to spend your afternoon.

About Tsumami-Zaiku:
Tsumami-zaiku is an artisan skill originated in the Japanese aristocracy, dating back to the late 18th century. It is a traditional craft in which practitioners create decorative items and fashion accessories by folding and assembling small, square pieces of fabric.
