We are delighted to announce an evening of mulled wine and mince pies as welcome new artist Katie Mawson to Glasshouse Contemporary with her solo exhibition 'Uncovered'. During this evening of festive cheer we will be unveiling a collection of 20 new original artworks by Katie. Join us to explore the artworks, meet the artist and celebrate the season.
Katie’s tactile artworks are created from her ever-growing collection of vintage cloth bound books - often discovered in charity shops. These faded covers, marked through time, carry a life already etched upon their surface. Their colours and textures form her palette and canvas as she slices, rips and skins these cloths from their board - deconstructing to reconstruct something new. We can't wait to reveal these unique and exquisitely made works of art.
