Join Mellor & Rose this festive season on our special Christmas Calligraphy Workshop on November 22nd at The Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath, Somerset from 10am - 2pm, suitable for complete Beginners and Intermediates! Christmas and Calligraphy go hand in hand, a perfect match and we couldn’t be more excited to share the joys of Calligraphy with you!£105 per person to include arrival refreshments, the workshop and calligraphy kit and a two-course lunch (main & dessert)
THE WORKSHOP
Guided by expert tutors; Lucy Mellor and Polly Mellor, we will begin by covering the core fundamentals of this beautiful and calming art form including how to hold a dip pen, learning the pressures and rhythms which gives calligraphy those characteristic contrasting strokes before moving onto learning the upper and lower script alphabet, how to link letters, first words and phrases (all festive themed of course and all exciting!)
We'll learn how to draw decorative illustrations and flourishes to complement our calligraphy and lettering up festive stationery pieces; cards and gift tags. The second half of the Workshop covers how to layout your Christmas Cards and Gift Tags, letter up and design a piece of seasonally themed wall art along with luxury stationery items. The 2.5 hour workshop includes a fully comprehensive Calligraphy Box with Starter Kit, Mellor & Rose Calligraphy Workbook, Luxe Festive Stationery items for your Calligraphy- all yours to keep and continue your Calligraphy Journey.

We're Mellor & Rose, a family of women lettering artists who are passionate about sharing the joys of Calligraphy to a wide audience - this being not only for its fabulous aesthetic but also for its much needed mindful and calming benefits. Made up of Beverley Mellor, Polly Mellor and Lucy Mellor - a mother and 2 daughters, founded in 2018 - we're a multidisciplinary design business working from Manchester to London and we're thrilled to work with brands and clients for Calligraphy and Handlettering services along with having the total joy of hosting our Modern Calligraphy Workshops, Brush Lettering Workshops and Chalk Lettering Workshops at beautiful venues and spaces across the UK from right here in Lancashire to London, Manchester, Liverpool, Cheshire, Cumbria, Yorkshire, Leicestershire, Cotswolds and Gloucestershire. Clients include Chanel, Prada and The White Company. We only use FSC Certified and PEFC Certified paper stock for all our Workshops.
