Bulga Community Centre stands on the traditional lands of the Wonnarua People.
The Bulga Community Centre has been the heart of the community for over 130 years, built on land generously donated by local man William Glas McAlpin and lovingly maintained through the dedication of generations.
Today it stands as a vibrant, modern venue while retaining the charm of its historic roots. Offering a wide range of weekly activities including playgroup, yoga, gym classes and homework help, it’s a space where people of all ages come together. Regular community meetings and social gathers like bingo, birthday parties, weddings, memorial services and corporate functions are also held in this cherished space.
With the recent addition of a beautiful verandah extension, the hall now blends tradition with contemporary style, providing an ideal setting for any event. Whether looking for a welcoming venue for your next gathering or a place to connect with neighbours, the Bulga Community Centre is here for you.
Local Knowledge: Bulga is a charming and friendly village, perfect for a relaxing getaway or a pit stop on your travels. If you are looking to stay the night, free camping is available making it a convenient and budget-friendly option for campers. For all your essentials, the local servo offers takeaway food, a bottle shop and a mini supermarket, ensuring you have everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Whether you’re just passing through or planning a longer visit, Bulga is a place where you’ll feel right at home. We are located at the western edge of the Hunter Valley where the plains rise up into the mountains of Wollemi National Park (22 kms south of Singleton).
The town has a general store, an old stone church, a tavern and a community hall.
There is free camping in the Bulga Recreational Grounds which is accessible to RVs, camper trailers and caravans offering undercover BBQ area, tennis courts, flushing toilets and a dump point. There are also some amazing Hip Camps close by at Milbrodale.
