About this Event
Fermented foods are having a well-deserved moment and for good reason. Not only are they packed with flavour, but humans have been fermenting food for tens of thousands of years so it’s far from a passing trend.
Rich in gut-loving bacteria and bursting with health benefits, ferments are a brilliant addition to any kitchen. Learning how to make your own is not just empowering, it’s a delicious way to support your wellbeing from the inside out.
Join us to discover how simple and satisfying it can be to make your own fermented foods at home. This masterclass will include:
- Learning the nutritional benefits of fermented foods
- Making kombucha
- Learning how to make sauerkraut and kimchi
- How to make nut cheeses
- How to make fermented Tepache (traditional Mexican fermented drink made from pineapple peels and cores, brown sugar or piloncillo (a type of unrefined cane sugar), and spices like cinnamon or cloves)
- Be treated to a healthy, plant-based lunch of hearty salads, abundant ferments, fermented sourdough bread to finish
- Receive extensive easy-to-follow recipe sheets provided to recreate the dishes again and again at home
This class will be a mixture of practical cooking, demos and time to ask questions. We do 'family style' cooking with everyone cooking and sharing workstations. This creates more of a communal and interactive experience, working together as a team. All ingredients and equipment needed for the class are provided. Please bring couple of small and medium size jars.
When you buy a Greens&Others cookery class you enjoy an enriching culinary experience and help us fight hunger in our community.
Please note that we don’t offer refunds, as all proceeds from our paid masterclasses help us run free community cooking sessions. Thank you for your kind support.
