About this Event

This work shop will take place in the lovely St Peters Community Hall and Garden, in Fairwater, Cardiff.

Discover the art of fermentation with Laure Boutrais, naturopath and founder of the award-winning South Wales–based Water Kefir and Sauerkraut company, Absorb Health.

In this hands-on workshop, Laure will introduce you to the world of living foods—how they can gently support immunity, digestion, mood, and overall vitality, while also offering simple ways to reduce sugar and processed drinks.

Together, we’ll explore the connection between our inner health and the natural processes that sustain it.

You’ll make your own sauerkraut to take home, learn the craft of water kefir, and enjoy a variety of tastings inspired by traditions from around the globe.

Laure will share health and well-being tips for the seasonal change from Autumn to Winter, the importance of looking after our gut particularly for boosting our immunity throughout the colder months, as well as insights into the role of fermented foods in nurturing the gut.

What’s included:

  • Guided tasting of fermented foods and drinks made by Laure, inspired by recipes from around the world
  • Understanding the benefits of fermentation and its impact on gut health
  • Hands-on sauerkraut making, plus the difference between sauerkraut and other lacto-fermented vegetables
  • Demonstration on making Beetroot and Garlic Kvass for an immunity boost!
  • Seasonal digestive health tips you can use right away, focusing on the immune system and preparing ourselves for the Winter months.

*You’ll receive a complimentary glass of kefir, tasters of kraut and pickles, and printed recipes to take home—along with your own jar of freshly made sauerkraut!

**Please bring a clean 500ml jar and a notepad for the many tips you’ll want to remember!

**** All products are plant based or vegetarian
