Femme Brutal invites you to get together for an evening of desert rock from the Palestinian and Syrian diaspora, experimental joik and the hottests djs in town. Playing music to fly away on, music to fight, recharge and dance the night away. The evening is taking place in Flerbrukshallen in Hausmania.

JAMILA & THE OTHER HEROES
Jamila & The Other Heroes er et Berlin-basert band med medlemmer fra «manywhere» som kombinerer psychedelisk ørkenrock med aktivisme.
Jamila Al-Yousef, som oppkalte bandet etter sin palestinske bestemor, ble født i Berlin samme dag som Berlinmuren falt. Etter å ha absorbert den revolusjonære energien fra den tiden fra morsmelken av og sterkt påvirket av sin palestinske fars livshistorie, skriver hun låter om «Heroes from the palestinian diaspora» som handler om frigjøring, empowerment, mobilisering og omgsorg.
Debut albumet SIT EL KON som betyr GRANDMOTHERS OF THE FUTURE kom ut på Springstoff i 2020. I 2023 kom oppfølgeren Bazaar Bizarre, hvor bandet ledet av Jamila forsatte sin transkulturelle musikalske reise med historier for og fra diaspora narrativer.

TUULA
Tuula har jobbet med lyd og musikk hele livet. Med bakgrunn som jazzvokalist og sámisk joik skaper Tuula sine lydlandskap og tekster. Særegne, vakre motsetninger i drone-aktige instrumentale og vokal blandet med elektroniske elementer. Deres sanger beveger seg fra brutale historier om revers fødsel til tekster som lengter etter andre tider og plasser, sentrert rundt å lege gamle sår. Tuula sitt bidrag til samiske juoigi Torgeir Vassvik sitt kritikerroste album har fått oppmerksomhet som en del av en ny bølge av nye samiske artister.

Jamila & The Other Heroes is a Berlin based band from manywhere that combines psychedelic desert rock with activist content.
Jamila Al-Yousef, who named the band after her Palestinian grandmother, was born in Berlin on the day the Berlin Wall came down.
Having absorbed the revolutionary energy from that time with her mother's milk and highly influenced by her Palestinian father’s life story, she composes songs with her musical Heroes from within the Palestinian diaspora that are all about liberation, empowerment and healing.
TUULA
Tuula has been working with sound and music their whole life. With a background in jazz-vocalizing and Sámi joik Tuula's soundscapes and lyrics hinge on peculiar but beautiful contradictions and liminality featuring drone-like instrumentals and streaming vocals combined with electronic elements. Their songs move from brutal stories of reversed birth to the longing towards other times and places, centering the curing of old wounds. Tuula's contribution to the Sámi juoigi Torgeir Vassvik's critically acclaimed album has been mentioned in several reviews as a part of a new wave of emerging Sámi artists.
