Hockey in the Rockies Female Hockey Day 2025
Join us for an incredible weekend dedicated to celebrating, developing, and growing female hockey as part of Hockey Alberta’s initiative to bring players, parents, coaches, and supporters together in support of the game we love.
Event Highlights:
On-Ice Skills & Goalie Sessions: Led by Lindsay McAlpine of McEwan University, local goalie legend Cassie Allin and players from the NAIT Ooks female hockey team.
U13 Female A Mini Tournament: A weekend filled with competitive action.
Participant Perks: Enjoy breakfast, lunch, and snacks, plus custom swag for all participants.
Chill Space: A relaxing zone for players featuring hockey-themed crafts, an all-day screening of WICK (Hailey Wickenheiser’s documentary), and personalized video messages from PWHL coaches and players.
Off ice workshops: Fun hockey themed paint class for all participants with local Artist Karly MacDonald - watch for more info to register
Flash Force Four Relay Race: at 1st intermission 4 of each team's fastest players will race for the title of the fastest team. Winners receive a candy trophy to share with their team and a team meal courtesy of Bear Hill Brewing.
Feature Game: Don’t miss the high-paced action as the NAIT Ooks take on the Red Deer Polytechnic Queens in a league game Saturday night at the Jasper Arena.
We aim to empower female players, inspire the next generation, and raise awareness about the importance of women in hockey. This is more than an event—it’s the beginning of an annual festival for females, by females.
Who Can Join:
Open to all ages, from U9 to U18. All participants must fill out an entry application
Women who are new to hockey are invited to participate in an on-ice skills session with our older players.
