Following the success of our first Female Founder Forum, in April we will bring the community together again for a second session focused on the practical realities of building and growing a business.
This event will bring together experienced founders and advisers to share honest insight into leadership, visibility, growth and access to finance. Through a candid conversation, our speakers will explore the challenges and opportunities facing female founders, offering practical guidance on building resilient businesses and navigating the funding landscape.
The session will also provide an opportunity to connect with other founders and professionals supporting entrepreneurial growth across Wales.
Speaker Bios
Lucy King - Gelar Property Consultancy
Lucy King is a Chartered Surveyor and Founder of Gelar Property Consultancy. A Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and serving on the RICS Wales Board, she strongly advocates for mental health awareness in the workplace and champions greater representation for women within the property and construction sectors.
Lucy began her career at King Sturge (now JLL) and Alder King before leading Asset Management at Halfords, where she managed the company’s national property portfolio and delivered strategic estate optimisation initiatives to drive operational performance and commercial growth.
Through Gelar Property, she provides strategic commercial property advice to national operators across the UK, including Scoffs Group, Costa’s largest franchisee. Her approach is clear, pragmatic and commercially focused — giving business owners the confidence to make informed, strategic decisions.
Louise Morgan – Founder & Director, TMPR
Louise Morgan is the founder and director of TMPR, an award-winning public relations and marketing communications agency supporting ambitious brands across Wales and beyond.
With extensive experience in brand positioning, reputation management and growth strategy, Louise works with scaling businesses to increase visibility, credibility and commercial impact. As a founder herself, she understands the realities of leading a growing business and balancing strategic ambition with operational delivery.
Spotlight: Supporting Female Entrepreneurs – Akmal Asquad, Finance
Akmal Asquad brings extensive experience in commercial finance and funding strategy. He works closely with growing businesses to help them access the right finance at the right time, whether through debt funding, growth capital or strategic financial planning.
At this session, Akmal will share practical guidance on:
