Wet felting is a tactile process that uses wool fibers, warm water, soap, and gentle friction to create a unified felted fabric surface. In our first creative session, you’ll work freely—laying out wool roving in patterns and shapes to create a whimsical base of colors, then in our second class students will layer on top adding yarns beads, and other elements to build texture and detail. You will learn the art of needle felting adding depth to your flowers and bringing your piece to life. Our theme will be Poppy flowers but there’s plenty of room for personal interpretation. You’re encouraged to follow your instincts and create something uniquely your own, with various details, texture and color.
THIS IS A TWO-SESSION WORKSHOP - THE SECOND IS JUNE 6TH FROM 1-2:45.
Participants will leave with a finished felted piece suitable for framing. **students must bring 1-2 towels to help keep their space dry and to roll their art in.
