FEINT's Under 20 Competition (Foil and Epee) - 14th June 2026 - Clifton Terrace School HallEligibility
To fence in this competition, fencers must be at least 13 years old on the day of the event, and must be under 20 years old as of the 1st January 2026
We welcome fencers from other regions of New Zealand to compete. Participants must be current affiliated members of a club in New Zealand
If you are not sure if the competition is appropriate for your child, please check with their coach
Competition Format:
First Round: Poules with bouts to 5 hits
Second Round: Direct Elimination to 15 hits
Separate events will be held for Males and Females as long as there are 4 or more competitors in each gender group. If there are not enough competitors in both groups, a mixed gender competition will be held. Competitors will be notified on the day of the competition.
Timetable:
8:30am - Under 20 Foil Registration
9:00am - Under 20 Males and Females Round One begins
11:30am - Under 20 Epee Registration
12:00pm - Under 20 Males and Females Round One begins (Note: the organisers may start later, depending on the competion of the earlier event)
Medals and Trophies
Medals will be awarded of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Equal placings in each category
Entry Requirements:
Entry Fees: Individual Entry: $15 per person per event. A $5 discount is available for a second event entered.
Entries Close: Friday, 12th June at 9pm. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the organiser. An additional late fee of $10 will be charged for late entries.
Entry fees are to be paid at time of entry submission. Payment can be by direct bank deposit into the FEiNT bank account, or by using the POLi service on the website.

Gear Requirements:
Clothing: Minimum 350N Jacket, 350N Plastron, 350N Fencing Breeches with long fencing socks or tracksuit pants. (No tights will be allowed) Fencing shoes or sports shoes. Gloves. Chest Protectors are compulsory for Women.
Masks: Leon Paul X-Change Masks must have a secondary Strap/Bar. All masks must be in good condition. The elastic strap must be in good working order with elasticity and be able return to its original position after stretching, without deformation. The hook and loop securing the elastic must be capable of retaining the elastic and resisting removal. Foil bibs are not required.
Gloves: All gloves must be in good condition. No hole is permitted for wires.
Weapons: Standard (non FIE) blades for foil and epee are acceptable.
Gear Hire: The FEINT gear hire charge for the term covers FEINT members usage. There is a $10 charge for gear hire to non-FEINT members.
