Stockport’s Blossoms: Come to Your Senses
This spring, we’re celebrating Stockport’s other famous blossoms!
We’re delighted to be leading a series of free, creative and gentle walks and supporting a cycling pootle around blossoming routes in Stockport. We’re inviting people to slow down, notice and reconnect with the season, each other and Stockport’s pink and white petals.
Join An Actions Common at What if? with the National Trust and some fellow creative Stockport friends for a springtime wander and wheel through our blossoms and take notice of our senses.
Rooted in Hollywood Park’s little known orchard - and the possibilities it holds - Come to Your Senses is a small, friendly programme of guided creative walks and a cycle pootle starting at What if? - taking in our town that mixes curiosity, creativity and a bit of gentle wandering, finishing with a shared coming-together and naturally framed exhibition under the trees.
Three spring walks and one gentle pootle
Each walk (and cycle) explores blossoms through a different sense, with simple prompts and plenty of space to take part in your own way (or just come along for the stroll). No creative experience needed - just curiosity and shoes you don’t mind getting a bit springy.
OUR THIRD BLOSSOM ADVENTURE
Feeling Blossoms - Doodle Walk and Blossom Bathing
25th April 10am - 12pm
Meeting at What if? to grab a brew and a biscuit, we will then go for a gentle morning mooch around the area and park (1 hour walk ) followed by a blossom bathing session, focusing on touch base with nature, breathing and how being among Stockport’s blossoms make us feel.
We’ll be sketching nature's abstract palettes - drawing with continuous lines using found twigs and local inks!
Feel free to bring children, we also have some books about blossoms for them to read kindly donated by the National Trust.
We'll bring blankets if it's nice and feel free to bring a picnic to enjoy whilst we sketch.
