FED Workshop - How to: Cooking while Camping

Join us for a truly special evening of cooking at local farm - Fleischer Family Farm. We will gather at the neighborhood spot for two demonstrations that will guide attendees through different styles of cooking outdoors. One lesson will focus on the traditional camp stove and the other on Ooni pizza ovens. The lessons are perfect for all types of car camping and all levels of cooking!

The event will begin with a farm tour by owner and operator Paul Flesicher. He will guide attendees around the space to learn about the farm's history and practices. During the tour, guests will also be invited to pick herbs to enhance the dishes they cook with our instructors.

Our first lesson will be taught by Bobby Cagliero of First Tracks/Allora Pizza. He will teach attendees how to make pizza in the travel Ooni pizza ovens. However, he won’t merely teach you the mechanics of utilizing these amazing ovens. As an expert of crafting the perfect pizza himself, he will share pizza making tips and tricks to transform all your pizza making habits.

The second lesson will be taught by the women of Wyld Honeys. Ali Hartwig and Caroline Kenyon will teach attendees how to utilize a classic camp stove to make a truly delicious stovetop Shakshuka. The perfect dish to pair with freshly picked herbs! Want a sneak peak into the creations of these ladies? These instructors will teach two distinct classes that every participant will get the opportunity to engage in. Furthermore, at the conclusion of these classes we will invite attendees to enjoy the setting sun while delighting in their class creations. If you'd like to hang around and enjoy your food from 6:30 to 7, please bring a picnic blanket to sit on. We will be tidying the workshop spaces and preparing to leave the farm when the event concludes so that our instrutors and farm host can enjoy their Sunday evening.
