About this Event
Song Exchange is a voice-only singing circle, inspired by the Irish song sharing tradition and welcoming all genres.
No need for goodness, or performance: only open ears and enjoyment are needed.
In the first half, each person has the chance to share a song and the story behind it, should they choose to.
In the second half, we will share rounds and songs to sing together.
This is a sharing and learning space, come with a willingness to sing.
Please do your best to arrive on time as latecomers are disruptive to the singing.
Song Exchange is a monthly singing circle, hosted collectively: this February edition at Maureen's in Cork will be hosted by Leah & Daire. Song Exchange was started by Molly Garvey out of a love of the Irish song sharing tradition and the power of making sound together. It builds on sessions of song exchanges held across the country of Ireland and beyond, a roaming, living thing.
