Opening Doors’ goal is to promote interfaith respect, empathy, and understanding and interpersonal relationships between and among individuals as the group studies and experiences the Jewish, Muslim, and Christian faith traditions.Every other month, leaders in these faith traditions talk about books, holidays, sacred Scriptures, and experiences that are important to them. A Buddhist priest occasionally shares as well.
Opening Doors will be meeting on Wednesday, February 11th at 7pm at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Community (221 Daly Ave in SLO). Jason Sisk-Provencio will be presenting on theologian Paul Tillich’s book Dynamics of Faith. Hisham Assal will be talking about “Sharing Food, Eating Together.” The Muslim community will begin observing Ramadan on the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 17th.
