Speaker Bios
Darrin Pock is a seasoned railroad professional with over 22 years of experience, specializing in project management, safety, training, and construction oversight. Currently, he serves as Contract/Project Manager for RailPros’ Metrolink On-Call Flagging, Training, Inspection, and Oversight Services, managing over 400 projects across the 538-mile Metrolink system. He has provided critical leadership in safety compliance, operations coordination, and staff management, while also serving as a primary point of contact with Metrolink executives. Darrin has contributed to key initiatives such as updating Metrolink’s Track Maintenance Manual, rewriting safety rules, and leading “Train the Trainers” sessions for contractors. His expertise extends to managing large-scale projects like the LAUS Rehabilitation and Vista Canyon Transit Station, where he ensures timely, safe, and cost-efficient project execution.
Eric Reese is a Right-of-Way Coordinator for the Southern California Regional Railroad Authority (SCRRA), a five-county Joint Powers Authority (JPA) that operates the Metrolink regional rail service across Southern California.
Eric has extensive knowledge in railroad operations, track and signal maintenance, and climate change resiliency. In his 5-year tenure at Metrolink, Eric oversaw the biannual schedule changes, researched the feasibility of battery and hybrid locomotive technology, studied the feasibility of reflective rails to reduce thermal misalignments, and more recently is overseeing the 3rd Party-Right-of-Entry Permit Processing.
Eric possesses a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Science in Environmental Science and is an advocate for improving the expansion of passenger and regional rail service across California.
Eric oversees the Right-of-Entry Permitting for all 3rd-Party Projects that take place on or near the Metrolink Right-of-Way. As part of the Right-of-Entry Permitting, Eric reviews and processes all 3rd-Party Right-of-Entry Applications and conducts field inspections, ensuring all projects meet Metrolink Engineering Design Standards and Procedures.
