Free, Sensory-Friendly, Relaxed Hours Family-Friendly Evening. This is a free ticketed event, but please do book in advance. We are hosting a dedicated sensory-friendly opening for visitors who benefit from a calmer, quieter environment. Family activities will be available and all exhibitions open.
The event is suitable for individuals or families with members who may have sensory processing differences, autistic spectrum conditions or would otherwise benefit from a quieter environment to explore IWM London.
The museum will be open to everyone from 4pm to 6pm, but this is usually a quieter time of day, with fewer visitors than in the morning or early afternoon.
From 6pm to 7pm, the museum will be open only for Relaxed Hours visitors. During this time, you can explore the galleries and exhibitions at your own pace, in a calmer environment, alongside other individuals and families who have booked for this session.
While the museum will be open to public between 4pm to 6pm, lighting will be adjusted, sound effects will be turned down, and more volunteers will be on hand to support your experience and provide accessibility support and advice.
There will also be quiet rooms for those needing to take a break, a breakout space, and an indoor eating area for anyone wishing to bring their own food.
