About this Event
PRODUCTION:
Entwined Elysium showcases shibari, the Japanese art of rope bondage, through mesmerizing performances that blend intricate rope techniques with graceful movement. These artistic displays emphasize the beauty of human connection, trust, and vulnerability, transforming rope into a medium for artistic expression and emotional storytelling. Each performance weaves together elements of tradition, creativity, and intimacy, creating a captivating and serene atmosphere for the audience.
SHOW:
Bondagious and Thumper often jokingly introduce themselves as members of the “Bad Ideas Club”. By committing to their best “worst” ideas, they've surprised themselves and audiences with a dynamic approach to live performance. So bring your own bad ideas and collaborate with Bondagious & Thumper to co-create a unique and exciting rope performance. These two rope clowns will strive to put into practice what they preach — live and unscripted — for your viewing pleasure.
BIO:
@bondagious (he/him) snared @Tie_Me_Thumper (he/they) at a rope date in the fall of 2019, and they have been tying tangible and intangible bonds ever since.
Based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the duo has studied principally Akechi Kanna-style rope bondage, from official and unofficial sources. They draw inspiration from Barkas and Addie’s approach to rope as a tool for communication and connection, strongly influenced by the teachings of Yukimura Haruki. With backgrounds in the performing arts, they seek opportunities to surprise and delight audiences and each other, drawing on the dynamic, high-impact minimalism of Tifereth and Nicholas Yoroi.
