About this Event
BROKER CLASS OVERVIEW 90 hour class Broker Pre-Licensing
This is the 90 hour pre-licensing course to get a real estate license in Indiana. This is the first step in becoming a real estate agent.
*You will need to come in person to our admin. office at 9279 N. Meridian Street to pick up your materials for the Virtual/Online Hybrid course. Your confirmation will have exact dates and times to pick up your materials for the first class. If you live outside of the Indy area, you need to choose the $619.00 option and we will mail your materials and book to you. Call or text 317-472-2987 with any questions or issues.
Get the best of both worlds with this hybrid live/zoom class format! This class follows a set schedule of content, provided daily via time-restricted and attendance-tracked Zoom videos, and you are expected to watch the content as outlined on the class calendar. When during the day you watch the video, is pretty much up to you! Each day will also feature a live Zoom session that will be a voluntary open discussion format where you can get your questions answered and receive extra help if needed.
This hybrid format provides the structure of a live class with the fixed daily schedule and content, but with the flexibility of an online class so you can pause for interruptions and not worry about missing the most important 3 minutes. Please note: With that flexibility comes the need for some personal accountability though, and self-discipline to make sure you stay on track. If you think you will have a difficult time holding yourself to the schedule and watching the content every day as scheduled, then this may not be the class for you.
Topics include: real property, agency law, brokerage, listing agreements, forms of ownership, legal descriptions, real estate taxes, contracts, deeds and title, financing, notes and mortgages, land contracts, leases, property management, appraisal, development, fair housing, environmental issues, real estate mathematics, closing the transaction, and Indiana License law.
The purpose of our classes is to prepare students to pass the Indiana Brokers Exam. Though we are not teaching students "how to sell" real estate, we pride ourselves in bringing real life experience to class. This helps provide memorable examples of classroom topics and concepts.
The cost for the 90 hour course includes all materials; text book and handouts.
Upon passing of our course, the student will receive a certificate of completion, and then can take the State Exam.
Applicants must be 18 years old and have no criminal convictions that could affect your dealings with the public, such as fraud or violence. Having a conviction does not automatically preclude you from licensure, it would just trigger a hearing. They must also have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. You must also be a qualified alien and have a "Permanent Residency" card when you apply for your license.
**Schedule subject to change at Director's discretion.
**Special Note: (Indiana Law provides that all residents of the state (and some non-residents) have the opportunity to earn an Indiana Real Estate license provided they have a high school education or a General Education Diploma and have successfully completed other educational and testing requirements.
An exception to this rule exists dealing with individuals convicted of crimes that might have a bearing on that individual’s ability to be fair, safe, and honest with members of the public.
If an applicant has a previous felony conviction, and especially if that individual is currently on probation for that offense, the Tucker School of Real Estate encourages the applicant to contact the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency for counsel prior to enrolling in a pre-licensing class at 317-234-3022.)
