About this Event
Make Happen's film school, Screenology, presents FEARS & PHOBIAS; a live art exhibition featuring a series of immersive installations, created and hosted by BA Filmmaking students. The installations taking over the St Vincent's Works building are based on societal constructs and abstract concepts, to explore how our personal horrors and collective fables are woven together into our everyday existence.
Each exhibit will have a context card outside its room explaining what ideas went into them and what it intends to communicate. Viewer discretion is advised as featured topics may be distressing for some. A list of featured topics is included at the bottom of the overview for those who wish to know in advance of attending. Flashing lights will be featured in some of the installations.
There will be a bar on site selling refreshments - payment via card. There is limited space for parking outside the building for both cars and bikes.
Please note, three of the exhibits are located downstairs. Two other exhibits are upstairs and since St Vincent's Works is an old building, there are no lifts. Those with limited mobility may not be able to experience the exhibits featured on the upper floor.
Featured topics include: Primal fears, medical trauma, political oppression and far right populism.
