Intermediate Temporary Traffic ControlOnline Refresher Training Class

Within a week of registering for this class, you will receive an email with the login/password for the Microsoft Teams Meeting and the link to the package of documents necessary to complete this class.

Each student must have their own laptop/desktop computer with speaker, microphone and camera. These must be on the entire time of class and test.

This is a refresher class and you are required to have an unexpired FDOT ITTC Certification that must be validated and the certificate number added on the first day of class.

The Intermediate Temporary Traffic Control Refresher Class concludes with a 50-question examinatino. Students who atttended the entire class and successfully completed the examination with a 70% score or higher will receive an FDOT Certificate and Wallet Card in PDF from the Florida Department of Transportation.

Description of FDOT ITTC Refresher Class

The FDOT ITTC Refresher course provides the student with an understanding and ability to use the Florida Department of Transportation's Design Standards applying them in a variety of situations.

The student will also receive a better understanding of the concepts and vocabulary necessary to work within the field. Classes are taught by experienced Public Works professionals.

The training described in this course applies to all personnel responsible for the planning, development, design, implementation, operation, enforcement and inspection of work zone related transportation management and temporary traffic control on streets and highways within the State Highway System right-of-way. This process does not apply to Law Enforcement Officers. However, there is no experience or prerequisite required for any category of training.

This course consists of instructor-led presentation, activites and a 50-question test. The successful student will be awarded a certificate & wallet card by the Florida Department of transportation and will be identified on the State of Florida's MOT Administrator Webpage.

This 1-day, 8-hour FDOT ITTC-Refresher certification course is required of all persons with duties that include the following activities:

  • Personnel responsible for supervising the installation, removal and field maintenance of TTC devices, including temporary barriers, end treatments and crash cushions.
  • Inspection of the placement or operational function of temporary traffic control devices, including temporary barriers, end treatments and crash cushions.
Target Audience

This course is required for all persons with duties that include any of the following activities:

  • Direct responsibility for placement of work zone traffic control devices; Direct responsibility for field maintenance of work zone traffic control devices; Inspection of the placement or operational function of work zone traffic control devices and/or Drafting or electronic generation of work zone traffic control plans.About this event
  • Tampa Bay Training is an approved provider for the Florida Department of Transportation's Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Maintenance of Traffic certification courses.

    Tampa Bay Training is also approved to teach the one-day Refresher of both the Intermediate and Advanced Temporary Traffic Control certification classes.

Prerequisites & Requirements for the FDOT ITTC Refresher Certification

There are no prerequisites to take this class other than having an unexpired FDOT ITTC certification at the time of the test.

A Driver's License and email address is required to attend the class and to take the test. Please have your driver's license with you at all time.

Students must provide a copy of their current (non-expired) FDOT ITTC certification at the appropriate level.


Certificates and Wallet Cards

Certificates and Wallet Cards are valid for four (4) years from the ending date of the class session. No certificates or wallet cards will be available at the class session.

You will receive an email notifying your successful passing of the test. There you will receive instructions how to use the motadmin.com website, your login and password, and ability to print your certificate and wallet card. This will be sent to the participants having successfully passed the exam.

Any participant not achieving a passing score of 70% or higher will receive a letter indicating such.
