Join us for the FCLN–RAPC Awards of Excellence Gala, an evening dedicated to celebrating the achievements and leadership of Filipino Canadian legal professionals. This special event will bring together members of the legal community, students, and supporters to honour trailblazers whose work has shaped the profession and strengthened the Filipino Canadian legal network.
This year, we are proud to recognize two distinguished honourees:
Emilio Binavince – A respected legal scholar and practitioner, Emilio Binavince is a former law professor at the University of Ottawa and founder of the Ottawa Law Review. Over the course of his career, he was a partner at Gowling & Henderson and later led his own firm, Binavince and Associates Professional Corporation. He argued constitutional, intellectual property, tax, and civil litigation cases at all levels of court before retiring in 2006. His legacy continues to inspire new generations of legal scholars and practitioners.
Ramon Andal – With more than 35 years in practice, Ramon Andal is widely recognized for his expertise in insurance law. He served as Contributing Editor to Insurance Law in Canada and the Insurance Title of the Canadian Encyclopedic Digest. He was also a founding member of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers in 2007, helping build a vibrant and supportive legal community across Canada.
We are also honoured to welcome Steve A. Coroza as our Keynote Speaker, who will share insights on leadership, service, and community within the legal profession.
