This is a rough year to celebrate the country, but I do want to celebrate the things we've done right. The times US Americans have fought fascism collectively and individually. We can be proud of that. I've reserved the Pavilion just South of the Discovery Center near the paddleboat ponds. There is parking in the Discovery Center lot, the lot beside the Pavilion itself and over by the Zoo. Please drop stuff off and then park nearby to keep room for anyone unloading. If there's enough interest, I will make sure there is a chat to help move things from vehicles to the Pavilion and make sure there are marked spots for dropping off.
This is a potluck. I ask that people to bring plenty of food and drink to share. I would like anyone who comes by to be able to eat. I will make some pulled pork and as many hot dogs as I can reasonably afford. I will add more details as they come so do keep an eye on the event if you're interested.
After the event, we can stumble over to a good spot to watch fireworks.
