We are honored to welcome our guest speaker, Iris Blue! Iris has been a Mission Service Corps volunteer since 1980 and was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Her life is a powerful testimony of God’s transforming grace. As a teenager, Iris ran away from home, became involved in drugs, and was arrested for armed robbery, spending eight years in the Texas Department of Corrections. After her release, she continued to struggle until someone shared the gospel with her, and she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. Iris describes her transformation by saying, “I knelt down a tramp and stood up a lady.” Her story is one of hope, redemption, and the life-changing power of Christ.
We are also excited to have musical guest Dawn Wills with us! Born in Dallas, Texas, Dawn accepted Jesus at age 8 and began classical training in guitar and piano. She graduated from SMU with degrees in music studies, voice, and cinema arts. After college, she served as a missionary in Australia for three years with Rhema, traveling in music ministry. For over 25 years, Dawn has been part of The Spoken for Gospel Band, recording three albums and receiving several honors, including SGMA Group Female Vocalist of the Year in 2018 and Female Vocalist of the Year in 2024 from the Gospel Music Artists Association of Texas. After the sudden loss of her husband in 2022, Dawn continues to walk through grief with faith and hope, sharing her heart through song and testimony.
Mark your calendar, invite a friend, and come be part of a beautiful morning together. We can’t wait to see what God will do as we gather to worship, listen, and grow together.
