Fauquier Community Theatre’s production team for Tales of the Artisan is thrilled to announce the world premiere of the magical new musical with performances May 1 – 17, 2026. The nine performance dates include Sunday, May 10 at 2 pm which is Mother's Day.

The musical has a powerhouse cast, and audiences are sure to enjoy seeing this original work filled with lush music, intrigue, and humor. Book and music are written by the award-winning team of Matt Moore and Cate Murray. The musical is produced by Mary Beth Balint.

Tales of the Artisan is a heartwarming, gripping, sometimes whimsical but always moving story of a small Scots/Irish Gaelic family with a powerful secret in 1814 America. The musical will transport audiences to a secret world of magic, wonder and intrigue.

Part coming-of-age story, part action thriller, and part homage to the incredible connection of family, the musical features an evolution of early American music, beginning with its roots in Scotch/Irish culture and exploring aspects of early folk.
The score is full of beautiful blends, big dance numbers, magic effects, breathtaking choreography, and features a small on-stage orchestra comprised of the primary characters.

Nine performances of Tales of the Artisan will take place on Fridays and weekends from May 1, 2026 – May 17, 2026. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 pm, and Sunday matinees are at 2 pm. The venue is the Vint Hill Theater on the Green located at 4225 Aiken Drive, Warrenton, VA. All tickets ($18 – $24) are for reserved seating. Tickets available at www.FCTstage.org now.
