We have been having severe weather in the area recently. Tornados, flooding, and fires can impact our families and homes. When disaster strikes, there are some family members who struggle to adapt to the sudden change. Simply because they are our pets.We do not have these kinds of resources in the state. (Not yet…)
The American Kennel Club introduced FastCAT to the sporting community in 2016. 10 years later it has grown in popularity and is recommended for pet owners interested in pursuing sports. FastCAT (Fast Coursing Ability Test) is a timed 100-yard dash where dogs pursue a plastic lure on a straight, fenced track.
Fast and Fun is a lure coursing company based out of Wisconsin, and serves most of the midwestern area. In honor of FastCAT’s 10 year anniversary, they are celebrating the sport by giving back to their communities. They are initiating fundraising aimed at acquiring AKC Pet Disaster Relief Trailers to be donated to Wisconsin and Illinois. These trailers contain essential, non-perishable supplies needed to set-up and provide safe sheltering options for its citizens’ pets during an evacuation. The trailer can be driven to a designated site and its contents used to shelter pets displaced from natural disasters. Placing Disaster Relief Trailers has been a central mission for Fast & Fun’s founder, Don Adams. The Fast & Fun team has devoted more than a year of dedicated effort to advance Don’s vision.
We invite you to support our upcoming fundraisers by donating gift baskets, raffle items, or monetary contributions. Your generosity will help make our event a success and directly benefit our cause. Every contribution, big or small, is greatly appreciated! All proceeds from Donations, “Fun Runs” this season, and during our fundraiser events will be allocated directly to the Disaster Relief Trailer Fund, helping us reach our fundraising objective of $24,000.00. Contributions totaling $1,000 or more from businesses and organizations will be acknowledged by displaying the donor’s name on the trailer.
