Training Event Summary: Dry Decontamination - FAST-ACT
**Overview:**
This 2.5-hour training focuses on FAST-ACT, a dry decontamination powder designed for the neutralization of Chemical Warfare Agents (CWAs), Toxic Industrial Chemicals (TICs), Toxic Industrial Materials (TIMs), and radiological hazards. FAST-ACT has been CE-approved for skin decontamination, marking its innovation in safety. It has been adopted widely within the U.S. Department of Defense, including special forces and civil engineering commands.
**Instructor:**
George Sichler, a retired NYPD detective with extensive experience in law enforcement and special operations, will lead the session. He brings expertise in tactical medicine, CBRN decontamination, and countermeasures, supported by his work in training and technical advising.
**Objectives:**
Participants will:
1. Learn decontamination terminology used in CBRN incidents.
2. Understand the applications of dry decontamination in chemical emergencies.
3. Explore FAST-ACT technology, including testing and safety.
4. Gain awareness of practical uses for FAST-ACT in personnel, equipment, and surface decontamination.
