Farm to Film Kick-Off: Film, Food & Forró! 🇧🇷🎥Get ready to transport your senses to Northeastern Brazil right here in Downtown Washington! We are kicking off the 2026 Farm to Film Fest with a night of vibrant culture, stunning cinema, and infectious rhythms.
We begin the evening with a screening of "Boi da Fé em Deus: A Community in Motion." This visually stunning documentary follows a performing group through the busiest week of the June Catholic festivals in São Luis. You’ll witness the dramatic folk tradition of Bumba Meu Boi de Zabumba and see the powerful impact this group has on their local community, culminating in a massive celebration at the Chapel of São Pedro.
Then, the party really starts! Forró fo Sho (pronounced Fo-HAW) will take the stage to animate the crowd with the exciting dance rhythms of Brazil. Led by accordionist Brendan Loula, the band blends folk sounds with cosmopolitan grooves using the accordion, triangle, and bass drum. Whether you want to sip a cocktail and enjoy the vibe or heat up the dance floor with your best moves, it’s going to be a night to remember.
Vem forrozear com a gente! Come party with us and help us launch a weekend of international cinema!
