Join us for an Open House at the Ridglea Giving Garden to learn more about this well-established and productive community garden located at Ridglea Christian Church. Leaders of the garden will be on site giving tours, answering questions and sharing the story of the garden space.
Sunday, June 2nd from 11am-1pm - OPEN HOUSE
The Ridglea Giving Garden (RGG) is located on a ΒΌ acre lot in a residential neighborhood in West Fort Worth. It began in January 2024, when its team of care takers took it over from what was formerly the Tarrant Area Food Bank Learning Garden.
The RGG is transitioning to a production garden that grows healthy food for our neighbors in need. All of the produce is donated to WestAid and other local food pantries. A large compost area is using regenerative practices and partnering with Compost Carpool to save food scraps and plant waste from the landfill and creating rich compost for the garden. Made Greene, a company that adds and supports gardens in local schools also has a presence in the RGG. Twice weekly workdays are well attended and corporate workdays have added to the vital group of volunteers.
The RGG depends on donations and grants to keep growing.

This open house & tour is hosted in partnership with Tarrant County Food Policy Council and their Community Gardens & Urban Agriculture working group.
Tarrant County Food Policy Council is a coalition of citizens, organizations, government and business leaders concerned for the health of our community. We work to bring together all parts of the local food system to find solutions to current food issues at the local level.
We take a systems approach to making change in our community. That means we're looking at issues from how and where our food is produced, to where it can be accessed, to what happens to waste and everything in between.
