A morning’s visit to this excellent Reserve which juts out into Langstone Harbour, famous for it’s wintering wildfowl and waders. Visiting in September gives a great opportunity to see numbers of both leaving summer visitors and returning wintering birds, whilst also hoping for one or two more unusual birds. The Reserve is well-known for it’s excellent array of wading birds together with such specialities as Bearded Tit, Dartford Warbler and, if we are lucky, a lingering Osprey.
Meet at the large car park directly off the Solent Way at 08.30am (Sat Nav: PO6 1TL what3words///loses.movie.packet). The walk is flat and about 2.5 miles. Please note no facilities on site (WCs or food outlet).
