Minnesota car salesman Jerry Lundegaard's inept crime falls apart due to his and his henchmen's bungling and the persistent police work of the quite pregnant Marge Gunderson.
The black comedy crime film is known for it's wit, style, and absurdism, and further built up the staggeringly prolific repertoire of the filmmaking brothers.
It won the Palme d'Or at Cannes, the highest honor at the festival, as well as Best Screenplay and Best Actress for McDormand.
Frances McDormand stars along with William H. Macy, Steve Buscemi, Harve Presnell, and Peter Stormare
