Fareed Haque is a modern guitar virtuoso. Steeped in classical and jazz traditions, his unique command of the guitar and different musical styles inspire his musical ventures with tradition and fearless innovation. Haque has toured and recorded with Joe Zawinul, Billy Cobham, Dave Holland, Paquito D'Rivera, Sting, Zakir Hussain, Bob James, Joe Henderson and many others, in addition to co-leading groups with Tony Monaco, Paul Wertico, Goran Ivanovic, Garaj Mahal, and The Chicago Immigrant Orchestra. Haque has released numerous albums as a leader, in jazz, classical, world music and fusion styles, and is the recipient of numerous accolades and awards including Best World Guitarist, Guitar Player Magazine 2009, 2004 Acoustic Album of the Year, 2007 Independent Music Award, and Best New World Music Group in Chicago Reader Poll 2020.
Mike Clark gained worldwide recognition as one of America’s foremost jazz and funk drummers while playing with Herbie Hancock’s group in the early 1970s. Mike became known as a major innovator through his incisive playing on Hancock’s Thrust album, which garnered him an international cult following. Mike has performed with jazz greats such as Chet Baker, Tony Bennett, Wayne Shorter, Joe Henderson, Bobby Hutcherson, Woody Shaw, Larry Coryell, Wallace Roney, Geri Allen, Billy Childs, James Genus, Chris Potter, Bobby McFerrin, Al Jarreau, and did a stint with Brand X, the acclaimed British fusion band, founded by Phil Collins.
Peter Washington is perhaps the most recorded bassist of his generation, with a discography of more than 450 recordings. Born in Los Angeles in 1964, Washington played classical bass as a teen and majored in English literature at University of California in Berkeley, where he played in both the UC Symphony, and the San Francisco Youth Symphony. In 1986, while performing in San Francisco with saxophonist John Handy, he was invited by the legendary Art Blakey to join the Jazz Messengers in New York and remained a member of the band until 1986. In 1990, Washington became part of the Tommy Flanagan Trio and toured and recorded with the pianist for the next decade. Washington is also a longtime member of the Bill Charlap Trio. Washington’s freelance work roster is a “who’s who” of jazz, including Dizzy Gillespie, Clark Terry, Milt Jackson, Johnny Griffin, Bobby Hutcherson, Freddie Hubbard, Charles McPherson, Mulgrew Miller, Tony Bennett, Joe Henderson, Gerald Wilson, Frank Wess, Jackie McLean, Cedar Walton, Tom Harrell and Lou Donaldson, among many others.
