About this Event

Join us to celebrate the release of The Midnight Croissant, the newest novel from author Bonnie Solomon!

The author of Pearly Gates returns with a magical tale about a spirit guide in the most romantic city of all, Paris. Learn all about the afterlife, cosmic love, and delicious pastries as Bonnie walks us through her newest tome in conversation with Michael Conboy. Plus: one lucky attendee will receive a "Parisian Escape Book Box," complete with a postcard, bookmarks, a mug, a sticker, tea, and a deluxe hardcover edition of The Midnight Croissant!

About the participants:

Bonnie Solomon has a passion for crafting humorous, uplifting stories in magical settings. A Midwest native and seasoned Hollywood professional, she brings over two decades of experience in feature film development with industry giants like Walden Media and DreamWorks Animation. Her passion for storytelling has driven her work as a creative consultant, where she's written film and TV treatments, edited novels, and coached writers from outlines through final drafts. As a queer writer, she is committed to authentic and aspirational LGBTQ representation. When she's not writing, you can find her cuddling the cat, shaking it loose on the dance floor, or finding the best latte in LA.

Michael Conboy is a writer of fiction and memoir. His work has been included in the quarterly Three Fold, the Supergay Detroit blog, the literary journal Southland Alibi, and the Detroit queer history zine Chromatic Aberrations. In 2020, his short story "Happy Hour" placed second for the James Kirkwood Literary Prize. He recently completed his first novel, HOMO DIPSO MANIA.

About the book:

The Midnight Croissant is a contemporary cozy fantasy set in Paris, following sassy spirit guide Pearly Gates as she corrals her stagnant charges into a group tour of Paris while contending with the unexpected arrival of her ex-soulmate as their new tour guide.
