About this Event
We are delighted to be joined by authors Andrea Stewart, Tasha Suri and Georgia Summers for a fantasy panel discussing the intricate worlds in their novels; The Gods Below, the Burning Kingdoms series and The City of Stardust.
Andrea Stewart is the Chinese American daughter of immigrants, and was raised in a number of places across the United States. When her (admittedly ambitious) dreams of becoming a dragon slayer didn't pan out, she instead turned to writing books. She now lives in sunny California.
An epic fantasy that combines a delicately crafted world with heartfelt characters, The Gods Below begins a new series from the Sunday Times bestselling author, where two sisters find themselves on opposite sides of a war against gods.
Tasha Suri is an award-winning author, a writing tutor, an occasional librarian and a cat owner. She has won the Best Newcomer (Sydney J. Bounds) Award from the British Fantasy Society, the Starburst Brave New Words Award, and has been nominated for the Astounding Award and Locus Award for Best Fantasy Novel. When she isn't writing, Tasha likes to cry over TV shows, buy too many notebooks, and indulge her geeky passion for reading about South Asian history. She lives with her family in a mildly haunted house in London.
The Jasmine Throne, the first in the series, is a panoramic fantasy of epic proportions that also functions as an intimate character study, as an imprisoned princess and a disguised priestess find themselves thrown together in an effort to depose a cruel tyrant.
Georgia Summers is a half-British, half-Trinidadian writer, who has spent most of her life living across the world, including in Russia, Colombia and the US. When she's not doing bookish things, she's planning her next great adventure. She currently lives in London, but she dreams of one day living in a haunted château with a ghost that cleans.
A bewitching dark fantasy debut, The City of Stardust sets a girl on a quest to find her missing mother and break a generations-old curse. Filled with magic, stardust, and a shockingly dark heart, it’s a stunning standalone fantasy.
