About this Event
Please note: Ticketing for this event will close at 12pm on Monday 11 November 2024.
Figs are vital keystone species in tropical forests, providing essential food for frugivores like fruit bats, primates, and birds. Evidence suggests figs were among the first plants deliberately cultivated by humans. Widely used around the world, figs owe their diversity and success to a unique relationship with tiny wasp pollinators. This mutualistic partnership ensures the reproduction of both the fig tree and the wasp, contributing to their global spread. Discover the fascinating world of figs and their ecological importance on a journey through the City Botanic Gardens.
