Due to COVID restrictions, the Huntington Beach Public Library's annual Fancy Nancy Tea Party will not be available as an in-person program… but this time around, we’re adapting! The Friends of the Children's Library are proud to present Fancy Nancy Tea Party To-Go take-home bags!
Tea Party To-Go bags are $10.00 each and will be filled with supplies and snacks for two people to craft, play, and dine, all while celebrating Jane O’Connor’s beloved Fancy Nancy picture book series. Dive deep into the theme of Fancy Nancy and the Mermaid Ballet by crafting shimmering pearl charm bracelets, glittering mermaid crowns, and shining ocean slime, then play under the sea bingo and host your own at-home pirate’s treasure scavenger hunt! There may even be some special surprises tucked away in the depths – ooh la la!
Bags will include the following snacks, crafts, and activities with enough supplies for two participants per bag:
- Tea Party To-Go instruction sheets
- Paper tea cup craft
- Mermaid crown craft
- Pearl bracelet craft
- Ocean slime craft
- Under the Sea bingo game
- Pirate's Treasure scavenger hunt game
- Gems, sequins, and stickers to decorate your creations
- Mermaid punch drink mix
- Be Our Guest free cookie/brownie gift cards from our friends at Chick-fil-A
- And a few fancy surprises!
Bag sales open promptly at 9:00 AM on Saturday, April 24. Bags may only be purchased online; there will be no in-person sales. Pick-up instructions for Tea Party To-Go bags will be emailed to participants after purchase. Pick-up dates for this program will be May 6-8, 2021, from the Huntington Beach Central Library (7111 Talbert Avenue). Bag quantities are limited; prompt purchase is recommended. Proceeds from this fun annual fundraiser help support the Children’s Library’s annual Summer Reading Program, which encourages children and teens to explore, connect, and grow during the summer.
