Family Workshops at the Library: Textile Portraits with Artist Martha Carillo

Join us for “Textile Portraits”, an art workshop led by artist Martha Carillo! Using fabric, felt, and other fun accessories, we will sew and collage self-portraits. This hands-on workshop is for all ages and experience levels. All materials will be provided.

ABOUT THE TEACHING ARTIST:
Martha Carillo is a Los Angeles–based artist, printmaker, and educator. Carillo is a teaching artist for SHG’s Barrio Mobile Art Studio, leading workshops on printmaking and other mixed-media practices, like paper mache, jewelry, zine-making, and wearable art. She is the Artistic Director of Heart on Arts where she curates live art and music events.
ABOUT SHG’S PROGRAM “FAMILY WORKSHOPS AT THE LIBRARY”:
Self Help Graphics & Art’s monthly free Family Workshops are held at the East Los Angeles Library every second Saturday of the month in the Community Room. Limited public parking is available. The East Los Angeles County Library is located at 4837 E 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90022, directly across from the Metro E Line East LA Civic Center Station, at the intersection of 3rd Street and Mednik Avenue.
